Maine Moose Hunts

Trophy Maine Moose Hunting

Lila and I are fortunate and travel often to hunting and fishing destinations all over the world. Ironically we have some of the best hunting, fishing and recreational opportunities within minutes of our home. Maine offers fabulous fall hunting for Grouse and Woodcock and thousands hit the woods every year to try their luck at a trophy Moose. There are also hundreds of great hiking adventures within a short drive of our home.

We have many nearby options for accommodations ranging from local motels to fully furnished Inns.

Maine Moose Hunts
Maine offers a fall Moose hunt by permit only. There are two seasons, one in September and the other in October. Permits are drawn in mid-summer with a permit deadline in Mid-May. Drawn applicants are assigned a season, zone and bull or cow tag.

Calling is one of the more successful ways of shooting a big bull. It is also the most exciting. Both bulls in the photos on the right was called to within thirty feet of the truck. Glassing large cut-over or wetland areas is also successful. Typically Maine biologists see a 70% success ratio.

If your lucky and have been drawn for a permit, give us a call. We’d be happy to help you bag the trophy Moose you’ve dreamed about. If your interested in a future hunt, we’ll help you with the application process.

As Master Maine Guides, we understand the business of guiding and believe it … Learn More...
